Happy landings

Pretty butterfly

Pretty butterfly

I was having a family picnic celebrating my son's graduation. About 15 family members view the pretty moment when the butterfly landed on me and wouldn't move until my brother tried to hold it.

It was such a great feeling because I've had my ups and downs recently and this just brought such peace to me because she chose me out of so many around me. :)

Monarch Butterfly on my nose, keeps me company

I was outside my house this morning about to feed the ducks when a butterfly shows up. I sat there for a minute watching it then all of a sudden it landed on my nose. I think it's a monarch but I'm not completely sure.

Beautiful, even when I walked around, this pretty creature stayed. Let it hang out until it fluttered away!

Hi Lisa and fellow butterfly lovers,

This is Sally, owner of cbsally.com. I wanted to share a few pictures and maybe a story or two of my own as I walk along on my nature walks.

My first adventure with attracting butterfly pictures into my life was upon the decision to write a page dedicated to butterflies.

I have mentioned before that I often attract subjects for my pictures by setting my energy tone to particular subjects.

I had no butterfly pictures to share with friends and was asking myself the question of how I might attract some to take pictures of.

That very morning shortly after I put out the question my sister sent me an email with four new butterfly pictures she captured while out walking.

This was the beginning of my own butterfly adventures.

Throughout the many changes I am encountering at this stage of my life I have attracted what has turned out to be the butterfly that stands for just that transition.

For instance I attracted a Mourning Butterfly, like the black and brown one shown above, right when I was starting my life over and left Illinois.

Many of the butterflies are simply little reminders that life is beautiful and changing in nature.

Most of the time they bring with them comfort and joy.

Friends, I hope you continue to enjoy these stories shared in what appears to be my most popular section.

Stay tuned as we continue our Journey.

Thank you,

Sally

Summer Day

Amazed and scared

Amazed and scared

Amazed and scared

I have been going through a hard time. I am 36, I have struggled with some issues on and off all of my life. I recently came to the conclusion that I needed to make a few, major, potentially transformational changes in my life.

It was either make changes or my life I, as I know it, could be lost. During the past few weeks, I have been ebbing and flowing in my desire to change.

I was sitting outside, feeling particularly content in the sunshine. Out of nowhere flies this butterfly very close to me. I have never before had one come so close.

Butterflies always seem like such elusive creatures.

Before I could fully grasp what was happening, I felt it land on my chest. It made me itch, and I wanted to "shoo" it away, until I looked down and saw how beautiful it was.

I promptly called my daughter over to the deck, worried it would fly away. But it did not!

It rested there for about five minutes, until I could not stand the tickling any longer.

Off it went, never to be seen again, but leaving me with this cool little story. :)

Butterfly encounters

by Karla
(Ontario, Canada)

Here at the age of 48 and just going through some health problems and being off work for 6 weeks. I have encountered two butterfly meetings this week.

This is the first time anything like this has happened in my life.

Once in a parking lot at our local pharmacy, I was going in after a visit to emergency, and a butterfly was on the ground outside my car door. He was hurt and unable to fly away.

I bent down and he crawled right up into my hand. I couldn't stand the thought of him being run over so I carried him across the parking lot to a bushed in area and placed him gently on a leaf. I was overcome with strong emotions and teared up.

Then 3 days later I was at a local beach on a windy day and my daughter pointed out a monarch in the water. I told her to leave it alone, that it was likely dead.

She insisted it wasn't, so I brought it out and it instantly stood up on its legs in my hand. It sat on my hand for about an hour, doing stuff butterflies do I guess.

His wings dried out and he was able to flutter them. So once again, I walked this one to a bushed in area to release him.

He just walked around on my hand for such a long time before letting go.

Its just weird to me that I have come across two in one week that needed "attention" and I have never held one in my whole life.

I am so grateful that I got to experience the tickle of their feet on my hands.

Is it good luck?

by Joy
(Iowa)

I do not have pictures, only the visual I can tell you about.

I was meeting a friend of mine I had not seen for years for lunch. We actually met by working at the same place in the past. I have been depressed and worried about my job and he reached out of the blue and invited me to lunch.

That day had come and I chose the patio to enjoy a nice lunch and re-union of two close friends. Before he arrived, I had a butterfly land on my napkin while I was speaking with the restaurant owner's son. He saw it and told me that means good luck.

My friend arrived and within the next two-hour lunch, that butterfly had landed in front of me again an additional four times. My friend told me that was good luck also.

He had mentioned that the butterfly knew I was a bull-headed individual and would take more convincing. My friend wants me to come work with him and knows I would be so much happier, because he knows me and we are friends.

So, I am taking a leap of faith and at least going to interview with his work. I do enjoy butterflies and even have a butterfly tattoo. I hope it does mean good luck is coming by way.

Thanks for reading.
