I saved a butterfly from drowning,

by Richard erickson

I saw two butterflies flying together yesterday as I was walking down the street. I was going to take care of some business in my neighborhood.

They headed into traffic, and a truck hit one of the butterflies. I watched it falling to the ground, right into a puddle of water.

It landed upside down, I was frozen by the event for a moment. Then I jump into action and was able to get the butterfly out of the water without hurting his wings.

I turn him right side up and he flew away with the speed of light. It made me think about how lucky I was to be in that place at just the right moment to save one of God's delicate creatures.

This experience has helped me realize that there is a Higher Power and sometimes we play a roll in changing the outcome for the good of all. And the special feelings I was left with as touched my soul will be with me for a long time to come.

Sometime we can help even a butterfly overcome the odds.

Thank you for allowing me to share my story.

Best wishes,

Richard Erickson
