That's right, it's easy to upload your own photos of some of your favorite parks and lakes. This lake scenes album is mostly Illinois lakes because that is where I was living when I took them.
They are still just as beautiful to enjoy. As time goes on I'll be changing pictures. My site is a growing expanding process and I hope you enjoy the ride. I welcome your comments and suggestions through the many available contact options...
We passed the entrance to Hidden Lake many times before we finally walked the park.
It became one of our favorite places to travel to. Close to home and right on the way to stores we frequented.
Those are the best surprises ever. This photo was taken in the summer by the looks of those wildflowers.
The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL had many features to enjoy. This lake was a favorite to walk around.
This picture was taken in early spring when the redbuds could be captured blooming all around us.
Soon the trees would be full of leaves. I don't think there is a season you would want to miss in this park.
One day while taking a picture of a little bird at Hidden lake, a fellow walker stopped to ask if we had ever visited the Rookery.
Our answer was an eager no, and could you tell us how to get there please!
This lake was not far from that rookery. We enjoyed many pictures that summer of a large variety of lake scenes album photo opportunities.
This picture was taken from between two trees at Herrick Lake.
Across the lake you can see an enclosed picnic area. This was a favorite of people as well as seasonal birds.
I wrote an entire article on Barn Swallows who visited the park one summer and took up housing.
That was a fun summer adventure for many.
This view of one of the lakes at Arboretum was taken in late spring.
You can tell by the fuller foliage on the trees. Lots of green grass surrounds the lake too.
The leaves are beginning to really fill out. But they still have a ways to go.
Now here we are finally getting into summer time at Herrick lake.
These boats are often occupied by park visitors. You can rent them for a small fee.
Herrick lake was one of my favorite parks because they seemed to have something for everyone.
Here is a Gazebo on the lake in Naperville, Illinois. It's fun when you discover even downtown can provide lake scenes album opportunities.
So it's interesting how busy it can be in the summer. There are paddle boats to rent. So you can imagine it attracts a crowd in the right season.
This photo was taken in early fall. Notice the leaves on the ground and some color starting to show through across the lake.
We had quite a hike to find this lake. From high on the hill I took this picture.
We're not the only ones to find it of course.
This is a favorite place for fishermen to come and spend the day.
You might find boats on the lake any time of day. It nice and quiet and secluded from the main stream crowd.
Don't you just love the look of rocks just under the surface of water?
This picture was taken on the opposite side of the lake. Across the lake you can see that Gazebo.
And if you look a little further you'll see Illinois's favorite tourist attraction the Carillon
I've written more about those beautiful bells before.
Your walk in the park may just reveal some very lake scenes. If you walk anywhere new a shallow lake, river, or stream that holds fish, you may possibly come across a few birds as well.
