Beautiful pink wildflowers album picked right from the park and brought straight to you. Fresh as the day they were taken. Chosen to photograph for you, that is.
Every walk in the park or forest presents an opportunity to flex your imagination.
One of my favorite forest preserve paths is along Herrick lake.
Beginning around mid summer to fall you are sure to be surrounded with Mother Nature's sweet perfume.
At first I did not realize the aroma I was enjoying came from the milkweed flowers along the water's edge.
Then one day I decided to explore a little closer. That is when I discovered those pretty pink flowers carried with them a fragrance better than any flower I've ever experienced.
Wildflowers come in many shapes and sizes. Colors also vary from plant to plant.
The Bull thistle flower is often used in pictures with a mouse on top.
They do appear to be capable of holding a tiny mouse.
Everyone is familiar with bush clovers. Bees love this flower so I'm sure it must have a fragrance. But the closest I've come is shooting with my camera.
First in the row we have butterfly weed whose flowers aren't yet open. When they do you can see the resemblance, if you get close, to the milkweed flower. Only there is no fragrance to them.
Next, remember those fragrant flowers I mentioned at the beginning of this article? These Fragrant flowers form balls of tiny flowers all summer long.
The last thumbnail in this row is picture of pink lupine wildflowers. Don't they look like sparkler sticks at a fourth of July celebration?
Bergamot is a beautiful flower that is a member of the mint family. This flower has many great uses health and beauty wise. You can read some of those benefits here at Mother Earth News (opens in new window)
You are probably familiar with the middle flower here as a bull thistle.
And the final flower is so tiny you might travel an entire path and pass it by.
