Monarch Butterfly Honors Breast Cancer Survivor

Monarch Butterfly Honors Breast Cancer Survivor

I took this picture of a Monarch Butterfly, at the Susan B. Komen breast cancer walk this past year. They released butterflies during the ceremony.

They all flew away except for this one butterfly. It lit on this beautiful hand of a 50 plus years cancer survivor.

At one point, it was on her back and she never noticed. I snapped some of that, too.

She even tried to gently blow this butterfly away after a while. It persistently returned.

She just smiled and let it be. It was so beautiful to watch.

Thank You Nikki For This Beautiful Story
by: Sally

I wanted to thank you for sharing this beautiful story and picture. I too believe that butterflies are attracted to those with a pure and gentle soul.

I wish I could have been there to see this. I once had a monarch butterfly land on my should at the park. We were walking our dog. It was such a thrilling experience. And he didn't seem to want to fly away.

It is stories like yours, Nikki, that make Nature and Flower Pictures such fun to own and operate. I saw that you mentioned taking more pictures of this butterfly.

It would be awesome if you could share them as well. Contact me, Sally, if you have any questions.

Thank you again,

Sally Stoneking
