I love the river walks in northern Illinois. But the first image in this row is a river almost hidden by the dense summer leaves of trees on it's banks.
The trail that crosses this river is off the beaten path. You won't hear a lot of traffic or pass many walkers here.
The other two river scenes album samples are near more populated areas and towns. So you are likely to pass other walkers just about any time you decide to head out.
Find a river and somewhere along it's banks you just may find a covered bridge or two. Naperville River walk actually has several that allow patrons to walk on either bank of this flowing river.
Seeking out rivers in secluded spots can be more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
These three images are good examples of rivers that flow through secluded locations.
Behind the trees you can see a windmill and where there is a windmill there certainly must be a body of water.
The river in the middle flows through a local bird sanctuary. You'll find this river teaming with wildlife and birds that occupy the nearby rookery.
And finally in this row we travel all the way to West Virginia. This river flows through Pricktett's Fort state park. Picture early settlers getting lots of use from this river's resources. Now it waits for boats to entertain weekend warriors taking a ride for the joy of it.
No matter what state you live in you are bound to have a favorite trail for exploring nature. Here is a nice traillink site that can help you find your way.
