This water lilies album may also be known as the aquatic plants album. Whatever name you prefer, you will surely enjoy their beauty. Water lilies are sometimes confused with Lotus Flowers too.
Lotus flowers actually have a totally different fruit. The center of the lotus produces a fruit that looks somewhat like a circular sponge.
I haven't come across any to take pictures of in my travels. But if you have one you would like to share, I'm sure readers would be grateful. I certainly would be.

Pink Sensation Water Lily
American White Water Lily
Arrowhead Pond Flower
Let's begin this tour of water lilies with the Pink Sensation Water Lily. This one is a favorite among pond owners. These particular pictures were taken in my Mom's back yard.
I took several different angles of the last lily of the season. Everyone at home was surprised to see a lily blooming in October.
In the middle is an American white Lily in full bloom. Each lily is surrounded by lushes healthy leaves. I burst with pride every time I see my brother's back yard pond.
And finally in this row is an arrowhead pond flower that grows in the lake at Herrick lake forest preserve. The leaves are outstanding.
Lilies After Rain
White American Lily
Red water Lily leaf
It is always fun to take pictures of flowers after a healthy summer rain. Add in a little reflection on the pond surface and you have the perfect picture.
This American white water lily is drenched in drops of rain water.
And the red leaf is cool in contrast of the other deep green leaves of the pond.
And if these water lily pictures have you wishing for a water garden of your own, let me recommend Your Garden Ponds Center. The first picture in this row was donated by David at Your Garden Ponds Center. David's site focuses on garden ponds information and design ideas. For an excellent source of garden ponds instructions and know how, be sure and check out David's site.
Back yard ponds may contain a variety of items, from fish to rocks. But one very important ingredient will be your water lilies. Water lilies come in a variety of colors and styles. They are as diverse as the back yard pond you find them in.
Finding the perfect water lily picture can be an adventure. The next two pictures were taken at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois. You can find them growing there in the Fragrance Garden where there is a lovely water pond.
I was surprised when I saw what looked like hyacinths growing on the water. A little research revealed that these are indeed Water Hyacinths. They would make a nice conversation plant for your pond.
