Let's Begin Wild flowers Section With Pink

Pink Wildflowers are some of the prettiest of all colors.  Although, this may just be a personal preference, I realize.  You probably have a favorite yourself.

What is your favorite color of flowers?  Did you know that every domestic flower started its life as a wildflower?  Of course you did!

Pink wildflowers include quite a large variety.  It may not be the largest variety of flowers in one color.  But it certainly is one of the prettiest.

If you are interested in larger images for use in creating E-book covers and other commercial purposes.  Special requests are also welcome. Please contact Sally (that's me), using my easy to use contact form.

Blue Wildflowers Album

Blue Wildflowers are the second in this collection of flowers by color.

Blue flowers can be found growing wild in forests, parks, and fields from early spring to late summer and sometimes into early fall.

Chicory, the first flower above, is a fine example.  They start blooming in northern Illinois around mid may and can be seen into September.

Blue Bells and marsh violets are early spring flowers.

Green Wildflowers Album

There may only be a few green wildflowers to choose from, but they certainly put on a great show.  Dainty Chinese Lanterns look exactly like the paper lanterns they are named for.

A closer look at the Jack in The Pulpit will reveal where that name came from as well.  You will also notice that many of the "green" wildflowers are so pale they appear almost white.

This may well be why they are often classified in plant books about wild flowers as white and green together.

Orange And Yellow Wildflowers Album

Orange and yellow flowers are common in the wild.  And you may recognize many of these favorites.  I actually named this album file Yellow wildflowers.

Dandelion wildflowers like the one on the end have a page all their own.  Believe it or not, they can be good for a few things....

But because there are really very few orange wildflowers, I decided to combine them into one.  After all, orange and yellow are quite close in nature.

You can help out here.  If you come up with a few more orange colored flowers I can add to this gallery, I'll create a new album just to hold them.  What do you think?

You may also notice that some wild flowers section favorites have managed to make it into your own flower garden.  My mom had fun planting many in her gardens.

One of my favorites was the butterfly weed.  It's the first in this row of wildflowers.

No respectable wild flowers section would be worth it's name if we didn't feature at least one of the many flowers out there.

I'm just slightly partial to this cool flower.  They grow all along the path near Herrick Lake in Illinois.  At least that's where I took most of the pictures on this page.

Check out the multiple names this flower has and see if you don't see where those names came from.

Purple Wildflowers Album

Purple is an excellent color to add to our  wild flowers section since they are are some of the prettiest of all.  And they come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Some of these awesome selections would make beautiful additions to your flower garden as well.

You may even be lucky enough to find a fragrant one or two.  They certainly brighten any walk in the park.
